BOSTON (Reuters) – Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney leads potential Republican primary opponents in the early voting state of New Hampshire, but celebrity candidate Donald Trump has substantial support, according to a new poll.

Public Policy Polling’s survey, released on Tuesday, showed 31 percent support for Romney, who many see as the front-runner for the Republican nomination to go up against Barack Obama in the 2012 presidential election.

That was similar to the 32 percent that Romney received in the state’s 2008 primary, when he finished second to John McCain, but down from 40 percent when the group last polled in November. Romney has not officially announced a bid.

“Mitt Romney’s looked like the runaway favorite in all of our New Hampshire polling to date,” said Dean Debnam, president of Public Policy Polling.

New Hampshire will hold its primary on Feb 14, 2012. Candidates jockey for position in the first-in-the-nation primary, which often sets the tone for the campaign season.

The authorization isn’t very recent, either. According to sources, it was “within the last two or three weeks.” Which is interesting for a bunch of reasons, not the least of which is the fact that coalition operations are only 12 days old. Was the CIA working on regime change before we’d even committed to the UN effort? Did Sarkozy and Cameron know about the CIA’s role when they signed onto the coalition or will they be blindsided by this? And what happens now to the political dynamics in Libya and abroad when Qaddafi starts screeching that he was right all along about the rebellion being a secret mission by the satanic crusader American government to blah blah blah blah?

GameFly has been fighting the United States Postal Service for two years over the cost of mailing its games. The difference in postage charged to GameFly and Netflix is more than 100% of the game rental outfit\’s monthly income in 2011.

(TIME)-On Feb. 11, Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour, his wife and three aides flew in a luxury jet to Washington for a weekend of politicking, including an appearance on Fox News Sunday and a speech to the Conservative Political Action Conference. “Our problem is not that we tax too little,” Barbour told the gathering. “It’s that we spend too much.”

The potential presidential contender may have another problem: Mississippi taxpayers paid the tab for Barbour’s first-class travel. State documents obtained by TIME show that Mississippi shelled out $7,020 to shuttle Barbour and his entourage to and from D.C. on its Cessna Citation, a cost that Barbour says is justified by state work he did in D.C. over the same weekend.

(CNN) – Rep. Dennis Kucinich, the seven-term liberal Democrat from Ohio who has twice run for the White House, says President Obama committed an “impeachable offense” in deciding to authorize U.S. airstrikes over Libya Saturday without the consent of Congress.

“President Obama moved forward without Congress approving. He didn’t have Congressional authorization, he has gone against the Constitution, and that’s got to be said,” Kucinich told the web site Raw Story on Monday. “It’s not even disputable, this isn’t even a close question.”

“Such an action – that involves putting America’s service men and women into harm’s way, whether they’re in the Air Force or the Navy – is a grave decision that cannot be made by the president alone,” the Cleveland-area congressman added.

Early polls (obviously) don’t tell you what is going to happen next year.  But in the case of specific state polls, they do help you understand how the race will take shape.  In Iowa, the race for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination is shaping up very nicely for former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee.

If this is the best thing the GOP will have to throw at Obama in the 2012 elections. Then why bother. Palin is not electable and the rest of this bunch is a complete waste. Huckabee has proven to be a complete idiot with his recent comments about Natalie Portman unwed pregnancy, his uninformed opinions on gay marriage. And his totally inability to make the least bit of sense.

GOP you have to have someone, anyone who can be a real challenge to Obama. Find him or her before it’s too late.

PHILADELPHIA – The mate piloting a tug boat in last summer’s deadly collision of a tourist boat and a barge was consumed by a family emergency and on his cell phone at the time, a new government report on the crash revealed Monday.

The mate told a tugboat company manager he had learned that day of a life-threatening medical emergency involving his young son, the National Transportation Safety Board report said. The mate, who was not identified, made or received 21 calls on his personal cell phone from the time he took the wheel at noon until the 2:37 p.m. crash.

The barge struck a disabled amphibious “duck boat” on July 7, killing two Hungarian students and plunging 35 other people into the Delaware River. The NTSB report does not analyze what caused the crash.

The 4,400-page report released Monday also said the mate did not assign a lookout on the high-sitting barge as it was being pushed from behind by the small tug.
